Announcing Against the Grain Poetry Press

We are delighted to announce Against the Grain Poetry Press is opening its first submission window on June 1st 2017 and are inviting the talented poets out there to send us their work. See Submissions.

Against the Grain is a new innovative small independent poetry publisher dedicated to publishing challenging, well-crafted poetry in beautiful packaging. The press is run and edited by Abegail Morley, Karen Dennison and Jessica Mookherjee.

Abegail is the author of four collections, the most recent, The Skin Diary is published by Nine Arches Press. She runs The Poetry Shed and has been named as one of the five British poets to watch in 2017 – Huffington Post.

Karen‘s first collection, Counting Rain, was published by Indigo Dreams in 2012. She is editor, designer and publisher of the pamphlets Book of Sand and Blue Shift where artists respond to poems and poets respond to artworks and has designed poetry book covers.

Jess is author of the pamphlet The Swell published by Tell Tale Press. A further pamphlet and her first full collection are forthcoming in 2018.
